Retreat Ceremony

Every few months the base has a formal retreat ceremony where troops come stand in formation for the playing of the National Anthem and lowering of the flag. At an Air Force base that also means flybys. Last ceremony I was flying in the flyby and so missed it from the ground. Today I setup the tripod about 150 yards away and tested the limits of my telephoto lens.

Pilots walking up late. Typical. ;)

Kick off with a C-130 flyover.

Present arms.

The B-1 flyby wasn't as sharp as the C-130. Maybe I should have quit fiddling with the manual settings and let the camera decide the aperture and shutter speed. Or maybe the jet's just that fast!
