Misty Tatoosh Range

The first month I was here, I drove up to Mount Rainier National Park with the kids.  Of course, like many others in the PNW, when I saw Rainier I knew I had to climb it.  I've done that since then - three times.  But on that first trip to the park, I saw the peaks of the Tatoosh Range standing like sentinels above the Paradise area and knew I had to climb them.

Finally, after three years, I finally got to spend some time exploring and climbing a couple of them.  The weather was iffy and overcast, but the I broke out of the clouds just below the peaks.  I scrambled up Plummer Peak and the backside of The Castle to catch some stunning views of the rest of the Tatoosh Range, Mount Adams and Mount St. Helens far to the South, and of course Mount Rainier.

Spot Camp Muir.

Till next time Rainier.
